Public consultation is now open on the draft Threat abatement plan for competition and land degradation by unmanaged goats.
The plan sets out actions to reduce the impacts of unmanaged goats on the environment, agriculture and communities.
Unmanaged goats are found in every state and territory. They compete with native fauna and can cause damage to soil and vegetation.
The draft plan was developed in consultation with a range of experts and builds upon the current threat abatement plan.
At the end of the comment period, we will use your feedback to inform the final plan, which the Minister for the Environment will consider in early 2024.
